Analysis of dynamic behavior of riser based on coupled fluid-structural system

2004
In this paper, we try to predict the maximum amplitude of behavior of a riser. It is well known that VIV occurs in a riser. Therefore, fluid and a riser were caught with coupled system, and the numerical analysis program was constructed. The vortex-induced force has been estimated by computational fluid dynamics method, calculating hydrodynamic forces around a 2D line structure section. The code links a series of 2D flow calculations at sections along a riser. And the behavior analysis of a riser and the fluid force analysis including the movement boundary are reaming. To ascertain these methods, two experiments were done. Behavior as a pipe of the 3D elasticity of the model based on the actual design by this calculation technique can be computed as that results. Moreover, it is possible to use this method also for the behavior analysis of the riser with complex initial shape.
