Zygomycosis following nasogastric tube placement in a cancer patient

In immunocompromised hosts, careful consideration is needed before even relatively minor invasive procedures are performed, particularly in patients with chemotherapy-induced neutropenia and mucositis. We report the case of a cancer patient receiving chemotherapy in whom trauma from a nasogastric tube placement triggered zygomycosis.
