Research on optimized control of braking force redistribution

2017
An high-performance approach for the optimized control of braking force redistribution is presented in the paper since serious sliding problem will be caused when the braking force of the electric-multiple-unit (EMU) exceeds the adhesion limit. The maximum adhesion, i.e. the adhesion limit is calculated first for each train through the analysis on the brake system of EMU. The total braking force required to be applied respectively on the motor vehicle and the trailer is obtained in consideration of the constraint of the braking force applied by the maximum adhesion in the distribution strategy of the electrical braking control model in priority. Then, the total braking force of the motor vehicle and the trailer is re-distributed in proportional to the maximum adhesion to obtain the braking force should be applied on each train. The higher the adhesion limit is, the larger the braking force applied on the train. Higher superiority of the approach for optimized control of braking force redistribution proposed in the paper is demonstrated by the simulation and analysis on the approach using simulation software.
