The Investigation on the Blood Pb Level of Children Aged 1 to 6 in Shenyang and its Related Factors

Objective: To investigate the blood Pb level of Children aged 1 to 6 in Shenyang and related factors. Methods: The blood Pb levels of the 2 682 children aged 1 to 6 in kid garden in Shenyang were detected by atomic fluorescent spectrummeter. Questionnaires on the personal and family Pb-related factors were conducted. Results: The average BPb was 98.33μg/L and incidence rate of lead poisoning was 30.21%. The BPb level in rural areas was significantly higher than that in cities. The daily time that children spent near roads, parental educational background, daily milk intake, father's occupation and housing level are the major risk factors for children with higher BPb. Conclusion: The average children BPb level in Shenyang is close to that in other cites in China. The BPb level in rural areas is higher than that in cities.
