A method for fault handling in a memory device, comprising: - receive, from a memory controller, a command and an associated command parity signal - to detect whether the received command has a parity error, wherein the received command from a chip select (chip select, CS) signal qualified; and - In response to detecting a parity error - ignore the received command; store instruction bits and address bits of the received command in an error log -; - to activate an error status; - to activate a fault indication signal; - to wait until the execution of all of one or more current commands is completed, wherein the one or more current commands received before the received command, and - to wait for an Active-to-precharge command delay has expired before all open pages are closed.
