A WALK ON THE TAME SIDE

2000
This paper examines the concept of a flexible and user-friendly signaled pedestrian crossing. It discusses the three primary functions of the system. These include: 1) the ability to detect and monitor pedestrians in the waiting area; 2) the ability to detect and monitor pedestrians during the crossing phase; and, 3) the provision of concise and unambiguous pedestrian signaling.
