Prevalence of acute respiratory infection in children less than 2 years in rural and urban population in and around Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Background: Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is the chief cause of mortality and morbidity among under-fives in Indian children and more common in below 2 years of age. Globally, the mortality percentage for ARI is higher in less developed countries like India than in developed countries. Aims and Objectives: The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of ARI in children
