27.1: Invited Paper: Opening the Door to New LCD Applications Via Polymer Walls

Free-form, or unbreakable displays are attractive from a consumer point of view but are difficult to manufacture. We have developed state-of-the-art liquid crystal mixtures that can create polymer wall structures within the display. This utilizes existing manufacturing techniques and enables flexible substrate based liquid crystal displays.
