Normal anatomy of the brain can be studied by comparing CT slices in three planes : horizontal, frontal and sagittal. Most present devices allow horizontal sections ; frontal sections can be obtained with some devices either directly or by reconstruction ; sagittal slices are obtained only by reconstruction, with a few exceptions.
