Panchromatic Terthiophenyl-benzodithiophene Conjugated Porphyrin Donor for Efficient Organic Solar Cells

2021
Two intermediate-sized acceptor-π-porphyrin-π-acceptor type molecules MPor1 and MPor2 with panchromatic absorption were here presented toward improved photovoltaic property. A breakthrough of absorption spectrum to cover the gap between Soret and Q band make these molecules not only possess narrow optical band gaps about 1.58-1.60 eV, but also have controllable energy levels, thus qualified them as excellent candidates for light-harvesting and hole-electron separation in bulk heterojunction layer with PC71BM as acceptor. When the conventional solar cells empoly the heterojunction layer as active layer, an optimal power conversion efficiency up to 8.59% was achieved benefited from a high short circle curent of 14.91 mA·cm−2.
