Construcción de la ciudadania y educación en México

The predominance of the neoliberal economic model brought with it the irruption of the values ​​of the world of business, competition and violence to the educational field. The Mexican evaluation system is implemented and operates linked to the decisions to allocate additional resources to the institutions based on their results. By letting the resources depend on the approval rating by the national and international institutions, the State disregards its role as provider of these rights.       Some studies have investigated the relationship between some measures of schooling and / or educational inequality and the degree of income inequality. Educational inequality, in general, manifests itself as a low educational average, educational lag and lack of access to the different educational levels, which manifests as “rejected” to the institution that is chosen.       Education in Mexico is a right enshrined in the Constitution and it is the responsibility of the State to enforce it; However, until now it has not been possible to guarantee the access and quality of such education to all children and youth in the country.
