Large delay underwater sensor networks clock synchronization with mobile beacon

2013
Large propagation delay is considered to be a significant challenge for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSN) clock synchronization. In this paper, we propose a novel approach, called “Ma-Sync”, which is a mobile-assisted clock synchronization scheme for mobile underwater acoustic sensor networks. It utilizes a mobile beacon node to get the relationship between node position and propagation delay, and makes use of linear regression to compute out the clock skew and offset. The effectiveness of Ma-Sync is validated by extensive simulations.
