2P-409 Synthesis and photovoltaic properties of polymer solar cells based on the solution processable indacenodithienothiophene and phenazine

2017
Solar cells based on conjugated polymeric materials have recently received considerable attention due to their low-cost solution fabrication process, light weight, large area and flexible panels. Conjugated copolymers with alternating donor (D) and acceptor (A) units along backbone are therefore developed on account of the hybridization of the energy levels of D/A units that can result in narrow band gap along with broad absorbance. We synthesized donor-pi-spacer-acceptor polymer containing indacenodithienothiophene -phenazine through Stille coupling reaction. Phenazine (Phz) derivatives are of particular interests as electron-withdrawing moieties due to the coplanar structure by connecting the two separated phenyl rings of phenylsubstituted quinoxaline derivatives with a single bond between the ortho positions. Thus, polymers were investigated physical, optical, electrochemical and photovoltaic properties.
