ORGANISMOS PATÓGENOS EN ESPECIES DE ARVENSES DE CUATRO CULTIVARES DE CÍTRICOS EN LA PROVINCIA DE CIEGO DE ÁVILA

With the objective of defining the pathogens in weeds of four citrus cultivars: Valencia Late, Washington Navel oranges and Duncan and Ruby grapefruits, an investigation was carried out in the UBPC “La Esperanza” located in the central province of Ciego de Avila in Cuba. 23 of the weeds species found were hosts of fungal diseases; in addition, 21 fungal and 2 bacterial species were also identified. Dominant species found were Euphorbia heterophylla, Oxalis corniculata, Paspalum fimbriatum and Malvastrum coromandelianum, this latter specie resulted the most dangerous because its greater susceptibility to the attack of fungal diseases. The fungus from the genera Uromyces appeared in the majority of the weed species.
