Effects of air hole numbers around nanocavity in photonic crystal quantum dot lasers

2014
In this paper, we study the effect of number of air holes on dynamics of photonic crystal quantum dot lasers. With high number of air holes, delay time to start lasing is reduced and after start of lasing the number of photons in the cavity is increased with time. On the other hand, with low number of air holes, the low confinement results in high delay time to start lasing and after start of lasing the number of photons in the cavity is almost constant.
