Coup d'etat in the United States: impossible or improbable?

Abstract : This thesis looks comparatively at the social and intra-military conditions that have led to coups d'etat in other countries, in order to evaluate whether a coup d'etat could occur in the United States. This thesis also creates a fictional scenario for this possibility.
