Rehabilitation in Epilepsy A Follow‐up Study of 427 Epileptics in the Period 1969–1972

SUMMARY Since 1969 427 epileptic persons incapable of working have been referred to the rehabilitation and neurological center. Although a third were mentally retarded, 24% are now working and 6% attending various schools; of the remaining patients nearly all are on pension. RESUME Depuis 1969, on a envoye 427 sujets avec epilepsie, incapables de travailler dans un Centre de rehabilitation et de Neurologie. Bien qu'un tiers de ces sujets avaient un retard mental, 24%ďentre eux ont maintenant un travail et 6% frequentent differen-tes ecoles, les patients qui restent sont presque tous en pension. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Seit 1969 wurden 427 arbeitsunfahige epileptische Personen einem neurologischen Rehabilitationszentrum uberwiesen. Obwohl ein Drittel geistig behindert war, stehen jetzt 24% in einem Arbeitsverhaltnis und 6% besuchen verschiedene Schulen; nahezu alle ubrigen Patienten sind berentet. RESUMEN Desde 1969 se han referido al Centro neurologico y de Rehabilitation 427 epilepticos incapaces de trabajar. A pesar de que un tercio eran retrasados mentales, un 24% estan trabajando en la actualidad y un 6% asisten a varias escuelas; la mayoria de los restantes enfermos estan en pension.
