Influence of the structure on the susceptibility of 40KhNMA steel to brittle fracture

1967
The intermediate structures formed during quenching of 40KhNMA steel have no substantial effect on the strength, plasticity, or ductility at room temperature, but do induce susceptibility to brittle fracture, which can be evaluated by the impact strength (and the type of fracture) and by static bending tests of wide strips.
