High temperature corrosion resistance of evaporated hard coatings. Das Zunderverhalten aufgedampfter Hartstoffschichten

Metallic and ceramic hard coatings are deposited by PVD-techniques like sputtering and Arc-evaporation onto the high temperature corrosion resistant steel X15CrNiSi2520. The X-ray-diffractometry permits the determination of coating structures before and after heat treatment. The oxidation resistance of these coatings is evaluated by annealing at 900deg C in air. Gravimetric, metallographic and WDX-analysis give information about the oxidation mechanisms taking place. (orig.).
