BILATERAL SYNCHRONOUS WILMS' TUMORS IN NEPHROBLASTOMATOSIS WITH LATE RECURRENCE

2002
The association of the nephroblastomatosis with Wilmstumor is well established. We report a case of nephroblastomatosis who presented initially with bilateral Wilmstumor at eight months of age, and presented again at six years with late recurrence of the same condition. At the initial admission, both the nephroblastomatosis and the Wilmstumors disappeared after chemotherapy. At the second admission five years later, renal parenchyma sparing tumorectomies were performed. The case demonstrates the importance of long-term follow-up.
