Investigation on mechanical properties of natural fiber-polymer composite materials

2020
Abstract Global environmental concerns, such as rapidly depleting oil resources, rising global average temperatures, rising sea levels, decreasing polar ice caps, are putting pressure on people and industry. As a composite material, there are more than two materials that differ from each other in form or composition on a macro-scale, and they have better characteristics than the individual material. The mechanical activity of filler-added Coir-Vinyl ester composites has been achieved in the present investigation using compression moulding technique. The samples are made using termite mound fillers and particulate layer of larvae. The experimental results were linked without a mound of termites to the particulate sample fillers in the egg shell. The main focus of this research was on comparing the effects of the vinyl ester-dependent termite mound filler with composite coir fibre and coir fibre composite cool filler. The maximum impact strength was 28.6 kJ / m2 with the length of 30 mm and the highest bending force was 28.4 MPa.
