Seakeeping and structural performance of the A-frame SWATH vessel sea shadow. Discussion. Authors' closure

Primary and secondary loads and ship motions obtained during dedicated performance trials of the SEA SHADOW, an A-frame SWATH (small waterplane area twin hull) ship, are presented. The trials were designed to demonstrate ship operation in a sea state 4 and to demonstrate ship survivability in a sea state 5. The results have been compared with model experiments and computer predictons to provide an assessment of the validity of using model experiments and computer predictions as a basis for estimating full-scale performance in a seaway of A-frame SWATH ships.
