Selective hydrogenation of polyunsaturated hydrocarbons and unsaturated aldehydes over bimetallic catalysts

2019
Abstract The review deals with the state of the art on selective hydrogenation of highly unsaturated hydrocarbons (alkynes and dienes) and of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes over bimetallic catalysts since 2000. The discussion focuses on the addition of a second metal, and on the preparation, main characteristics and uses of supported bimetallic nanoparticle catalysts (including isolated atom sites) in selective hydrogenation. The review in principle includes no model single crystal or bulk alloy catalysts.
