The use of relative time programming in a gas chromatograph breath analyser

The special requirements for a gas-chromatography-based instrument which is to be used by essentially untrained personnel are reviewed. A unique method for meeting a particular set of objectives is described and applied to the design of a direct-reading breath analyser for the determination of alcohol or acetone.
