The complete mitochondrial genome of the striped-tailed rat-snake, Orthriophis taeniurus (Reptilia, Serpentes, Colubridae).

2016
AbstractThe complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of the striped-tailed rat-snake Orthriophis taeniurus was determined in the present study. The genome is 17,183 bp in size, containing 2 ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes, 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and 2 control regions (CRI and CRII). The gene order and orientation in O. taeniurus mitogenome are basically identical to that of other alethinophidian snakes. Nucleotide composition is very similar with other vertebrates, showing an AT bias.
