Derivation of flow discharges from runoff maps and digital terrain models in Spain

A methodology is presented that has been developed by the Centro de Estudios Hidrogrâficos of CEDEX, which automatically derives the river network yield maps from runoff maps and a digital terrain model in an opera­ tional way, without it being necessary to plot the watersheds of the basins. The proposed methodology has been applied throughout the Spanish mainland.
