A SURVEY ON METHODOLOGIES FOR INTENSIFYING THE SECURITY IN IOT ENVIRONMENT

The Internet of Things is deemed to be the next revolutionary step in the world. The Internet and Embedded system are at the core of this where everything is interconnected with each other and provides a completely new experience to the user. The IoT platform is emerging as a whole new wave of digital technologies that will provide a transformative experience in future having unimaginable smart applications, such as smarter cities, smart health, intelligent transportation, etc. Such a technology is a boon for the world but could be a curse if the security aspects are overlooked. Due to the high-spirited access and connection ease in the whole IOT environment, there are ascending risks and genesis of huge threats to the IoT environment. Security, as always, serves as akey factor for any upcoming technology to succeed, this paper supplies a review on IoT, its applications, IoT security, its challenges and some methods to provide security in the IoT environment. This paper furnishes some of the security requirements of IoT from the aspects of Data Integrity, Data Confidentiality, Secure Authentication and Authorization. Providing security by methods like cryptography, authentication control using machine learning, activity detection and Blockchain are specified as some measures for security in the IoT Environment. Eventually, diverse security challenges and concerns relating to privacy will be called attention to in this paper. Ultimately, this paper discusses future works towards a secure IoT Environment.
