Implementation of Image Information Combining Road Map and Radar Map Image for Autonomous Driving Application

A 79GHz FMCW radar system was developed and radar map image algorithm was realized to detect not only moving objects but also stationary objects around the vehicle at the same time. In particular, the information that detected the curbstones around the road and the navigation map were overlapped, so that the location of the ego-vehicle on the road could be relatively accurate. If GPS signals are not intermittently caught in downtown areas or in low-speed driving, it will be useful to locate autonomous driving vehicles.
