Electrical properties of (ZrO2) /SUB 0. 9/ x (Y2O3) /SUB 0. 1/ at 430-750

1985
The authors prepared single-crystal electrolytes in the form of thin walled test tubes filled with an (In, In2O3) electrode with a 15:1 metal-to-oxide ratio and hermetically sealed. They made contact between the (Fe, FeO) electrode and the electrolyte with the aid of a neutral metal. The emf of galvanic concentration cell was measured by a high resistance millivoltmeter, and the temperature of the galvanic cell was monitored. They found that (ZrO2) /SUB 0.4/ x (Y2O3) /SUB 0.1/ is a low temperature electrolyte which has pure oxygen ion conduction at temperatures from 430 to 750 degrees K.
