Molecular diversity and function of G proteins and calcium channels.

1991
General features of signal transduction by G proteins and structural properties of G-protein-modulated calcium channels are described. Recent results on roles of ‘y dimers in signal transduction, on the kinetic properties of G1a subunits and structural diversity of G0a subunits are discussed, as are the background and current state of our knowledge of the modulation of calcium channels by G proteins.
