THE EFFECT OF GINGER JUICE (Zingiber officinale) ON MILKFISH (Chanos chanos) TOTAL BAKTERIAL

The aim of this research was to know the antibacterial effect of ginger juice (Zingiber officinale) on the total of bacterial colonies in milkfish from fishpond Kalang Anyar, Sidoarjo as the parameter. The milkfish samples were divided into 100 pieces and each sample was 5 grams. The research method was completely randomized design by using four concentration of ginger juice 0%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% and five storage time 0 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 18 hours, and 24 hours. The obtained data then were analyzed by ANOVA. The result of this research showed significanly different (P<0,05) between the control and treatment the total of bacterial colonies. Based on those result, it could be concluded that ginger juice affecting in decreasing total of bacterial colonies.
