The proposed method for non-contact determination of a temperature of a surface (22), in particular for non-contact determination of a temperature distribution of a surface (22), is based on an infrared measurement system (10, 10a) comprising at least: - an infrared detector array (36) having a plurality of measurement pixels (62), each of which provides a measurement signal for detecting a signal dependent on an intensity of the incident infrared radiation temperature measurement value T - a locking mechanism for preventing an incidence of infrared radiation to the infrared detector array (36) wherein the method comprises at least the following steps: - determining the temperature measuring values T - correcting temperature measurements T According to the invention, at least temporarily, an incidence of infrared radiation to the infrared detector array (36) by means of the locking mechanism (58) of the infrared measurement system (10, 10a) inhibited during which temperature readings T Further, a run with the method of infrared measuring system (10, 10a) is proposed.
