Dieta i suplementacja a występowanie depresji i satysfakcji seksualnej u kobiet stosujących dwuskładnikową tabletkę antykoncepcyjną

2016
INTRODUCTION: The aim of the following publication is to elucidate the links between lifestyle, diet and the incidence of depression and the level of sexual satisfaction in women using combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP) MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study was done using questionnaires. There were 105 participants, all women 18 to 47 years old COCP. The methods used included: Health Behaviors Inventory (Juczynski 1999), Sexual Sastisfaction Questionnaire (Nomejko, Dolinska-Zygmunt 2014) and Kwestionariusz do Pomiaru Depresji (Depression Assessment Questionnaire) (KPD; Łojek E. et al. 2015), as well as a separate questionnaire regarding basic information about the participants. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: The study found that 31% of the participants had highly intensive features of depression and 10% met the point threshold for the diagnosis of depression in KPD scale. The results also show that the participants who used omega-3 fatty acid supplementation experience fewer psychosomatic symptoms of depression (including loss of interest in life activities), compared to participants not using the supplementation. There was also low and moderate correlation between the level of sexual satisfaction and the occurrence of depressive symptoms (negative correlation), as well as between the occurrence of depressive symptoms and proper dietary habits and healthy lifestyle ( negative correlation). In addition, there was a negative correlation between proper dietary habits and cognitive deficit as well as loss of stamina which were the signs of depression.
