Clinical research of relationship between lipid metabolism and atherosclerosis in patients with sarcoidosis
2019
Objective
To explore the lipid metabolism and atherosclerosis in sarcoidosis patients, discover the changes of lipid level in the sarcoidosis patients treated with glucocorticoid.
Methods
Fifty-two sarcoidosis patients in Navy General Hospital of PLA from January 2012 to December 2017 were chosen to be experimental group while fifty were normal control in the same period.Lipid level was measured by automatic biochemical analyzer, intima-media thickness (IMT) was measured by diasonograph. The difference of lipid level and IMT between two groups was retrospectively compared. The blood lipid level of twenty-four sarcoidosis patients after 12-18 months treated with glucocorticoid was reviewed, to compare the changes of lipid level before and after treatment.
Results
Compared to control group, the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B (apoB) were increased (t=2.679, 3.778, 3.496, 3.905, all P 0.05). Twenty-four sarcoidosis patients reviewed after treated with glucocorticoid, lipid level of relieved group (14 cases) had no significant difference, while the levels of TC, TG and LDL-C in unrelieved group (10 cases) were increased significantly (t=-2.318, -2.402, -2.402, all P 0.05).
Conclusions
Compared to control group, the levels of TC, TG, LDL-C, and apoB are increased, HDL-C and apoA are decreased, IMT is increased in sarcoidosis patients.Hormonotherapy is influential to the patients′ lipid level, especially unrelieved and relapsed patients after treatment.
