En este trabajo se reporta la sintesis de nanoparticulas de oxido de hierro (Ferrihidrita) estabilizadas en silice ypolivinilpirrolidona (PVP), [FexOy/SiO2] y [FexOy/PVP], obtenidos a partir de la hidrolisis de FeCl3.6H2O con NH4OH. Ambossistemas fueron caracterizados mediante ICP-OES, HRTEM, MET, espectroscopia de Mossbauer y XPS. El tamano promediode las nanoparticulas fue de 1,7 nm para el [FexOy/SiO2] y entre 2 y 3nm para [FexOy/PVP], mostrando ademas una distribucionestrecha de tamanos. ABSTRACT In this work we report the syntheses of iron oxide nanoparticles (ferrihydrite) stabilized on silica and polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP), [FexOy/SiO2] and [FexOy/PVP], from the hydrolysis of FeCl3.6H2O with NH4OH. Both systems were characterized byICP-OES, HRTEM, MET, Mossbauer and XPS. The mean particle size for the [FexOy/SiO2] system was 1,7nm whereas forthe [FexOy/PVP] it was between 2 and 3nm showing narrow size distribution.Keywords: Nanostructured iron oxides, Iron oxides nanoparticles, Iron oxides, PVP.
