Exploring the one-pot C-acylation of cyclic 1,3-diones with unactivated carboxylic acid

Abstract The use of DCC, triethylamine, and 4-dimethylaminopyridine in dichloromethane provides a general and standard one-pot procedure for the C-acylation of cyclic 1,3-diones with a wide range of carboxylic acids, giving rise to β-triketones in good to excellent yields.
