The paper demonstrates the observation from the clinical practice of a rare disease nephrogenic metaplasia, which in cystoscopic picture is virtually indistinguishable from the bladder cancer. This is a benign process with the risk of malignant lesions of the urinary tract. Nephrogenic metaplasia is a precancerous condition that requires dynamic monitoring of such patients. Based on clinical, laboratory, radiation and endoscopic examination of this disease it is not always possible to establish a definitive diagnosis in these patients. In order to verify the diagnosis of nephrogenic metaplasia it is required the implementation of a pathomorphological study.
