Spectral characteristics of Nd3+/Yb3+:YPO4 single crystal with strong multi-wavelength emission

We report the growth and spectral characteristics of the 0.32 at.%Nd3+/1.2 at.%Yb3+:YPO4 crystal. Based on AlGaAs LD pumping, the Yb3+ and Nd3+ ions emission were successfully achieved simultaneously with strong multi-wavelength emission. The potential THz radiation covering 17-21 THz may be generated through difference frequency interaction theoretically.
