Perfil de susceptibilidad bacteriana en infección del tracto urinario en población infantil de Cali – Colombia

2019
Objective: To characterize the bacterial susceptibility in the urinary tract infection acquired in the community of the pediatric population attended at a Cali-Colombia institution. Materials and methods: Retrospective descriptive, observational study in children aged 1 month to 18 years of age who consulted with the Club Noel Children’s Clinic Foundation with a diagnostic impression of the first episode of urinary tract infection confirmed by urine culture and Meets the established inclusion criteria, during the period from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015. Results: The community UTI in boys was more frequent in children less than 1 year of age, compared to girls who predominated at the age of 1-5 years. The most commonly isolated germ was E. coli, followed by Proteus spp. and finally Klebsiella pneumoniae. The resistance patterns were: extended spectrum betalactamasa (BLEA) in 60.2%, Betalactamasa type AmpC in 10.2%, Penicillinase low ceiling 9.1% and extended spectrum betalactamasa (ESBL) in 7.1% of the isolates. Conclusions: The pattern AmpC and BLEE is found in 17.3% in the study population. Resistance persists high to commonly used antibiotics such as ampicillin, cephalothin and Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim (TMP-SMX).
