Analysis of data of HIV voluntary counseling and testing(VCT) in Fangshan district of Beijing in 2009

Objective To understand the social and demographic characteristics of individuals receiving HIV VCT in 2009 and HIV infection among them,and to provide scientific basis for adopting relevant measures to prevent and control HIV/AIDS.Methods The descriptive epidemiological method was used to analyze the data of VCT in 2009.Results Of the 534 subjects under survey 532 received VCT service,with the ratio between males and females of 1.17:1,and 95.8% of them were aged 18-40 years;about 66.67% of VCT receivers were females with extramarital heterosexual behaviors,and 2 were diagnosed as HIV-positive(the infection rate of HIV was 0.38%).Conclusion HIV related prevention and education should be further improved,with emphasis on adolescents and adults aged between aged 18-40 and females with extramarital heterosexual behaviors.
