BP, biofuels and the growing potential of biobutanol

BP believes that biofuels will play a significant role in the supply of transport fuels in the future, reducing dependence on imported oil, cutting emissions of greenhouse gases and providing a growing market for the farming community. However, fulfilling the potential that biofuels offer will require new technologies aimed at converting biomass to advanced and improved liquid fuels and finding new 'non-food' feedstocks for biofuels.
