Coal‐gas cleanup facility

The operation of a Process Development Unit-Scale Integrated Coal-Gasification Combined Cycle experimental facility is presented. The Benfield system is shown to adequately scrub sulfur compounds over a wide range of gas compositions and operation conditions. The particulate and alkali levels in the product gas are well within the acceptable range for existing gas-turbine fuel specifications. (JMT)
