The invention discloses a pulse-width modulation reverse gear starting control method of a multi-gear wire-controlled automatic gearbox. According to the method, the starting completion vehicle speed value v and the fixed cycle control period T are set, the R gear switching signal and the vehicle speed signal v of a vehicle speed sensor are detected, the electrification pulse width of a reverse gear electromagnetic clutch is controlled by an electric control unit according to the cycle electrification pulse width determined by a cycle electrification pulse width function of T =(1+alpha)T +betaT v/v , and the reverse gear starting control of the wire-controlled automatic gearbox is realized. The starting control method has the advantages that the driving habits of different drivers can be met, the engine flame-out in the starting process is avoided, and the stable starting of the wire-controlled automatic gearbox is realized.
