Physical and Economic Progress of Rajasthan Under Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission (SPMRM)

Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM), a Government of India initiative, aims at addressing the advantages of prospective clusters from both economic as well as infrastructure development point of view by providing economic, social and physical infrastructure facilities to these clusters so that a new socio-economic system is developed for sustainable and inclusive growth resulting in a nucleus of a vibrant and pulsating growth center. This study is an attempt to understand the framework for implementation of NRUM project in Rajasthan. Further it discusses Livelihoods pattern, Infrastructure and Marketing Support. Role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in NRUM has been also elaborated. The current study is based on selected 15 clusters and districts under SPMRM across Rajasthan state.MIS Data sheets provided by the department of Rajasthan Government have beenconsidered as a sample frame. Phase wise Physical and Economic progress of Rajasthan under Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Missionhas been analyzed. Significant difference was found in the three phases of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission in Rajasthan for Physical and Economic progress.
