Synthesis and characterization of a new Pb-3212phase: Pb2−xCd2xCu1−xSr2(Dy,Ca)Cu2Oz

Abstract A new type of Pb-3212 layered superconductor, (Pb 2−x Cd 2x Cu 1−x )Sr 2 (Dy,Ca)Cu 2 O z , has been synthesized and characterized by XRD and resistance measurement. The structure is isotype with Pb 2 Sr 2 YCu 3 O 8 . The limitation of Cd 2+ substitution for (Pb,Cu) in rock-salt layer is up to 1.0. Tc of Pb 1.8 Cd 0.4 Sr 2 Dy 0.5 Ca 0.5 Cu 2.8 O z is up to 61K.
