The invention relates to a method for controlling vertical lifting and horizontal movement of an aloft work platform operating bucket, which comprises the steps of installing a length sensor and an angle sensor on an arm support of an aloft work platform for sensing the current state of the aloft work platform arm support and transmitting to a controller; opening a switch when requiring to realize the 'vertical lifting and horizontal movement' function;, calculating the amplitude e0 of the amplitude handle by the controller based on the current state when an operator operates a variable amplitude handle, and recording; continuously transmitting operating parameters of the system by the sensors during the operation process of the arm support to the controller to ensure the vertical lifting of the operating bucket; calculating the height h0 of the expansion handle by the controller when the operator operates an expansion handle, and recording; and continuously transmitting the operating parameters of the system by the sensors during the operation process of the arm support to the controller to ensure the horizontal movement of the operating bucket. The vertical lifting and the horizontal movement are independent of each other. The operation track of the aloft work platform operating bucket is controlled by the controller; and has the advantages of precise control, convenient operation and remarkably improved operating efficiency.
