A study on link adaptation using OFDM system in the shallow water of yellow sea of Korea

2018
As the underwater channel environment changes frequently, it greatly affects the performance of underwater acoustic communication. Therefore, designing a communication system adaptive to the change is necessary for enabling stable communication in that environment. In this paper, an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system structure with various communication parameters such as pilot spacing, repetition, modulation, and channel coding for the design of such a system. We used surveyed data of the Yellow Sea of South Korea to analyze the performance of coded bit error rate (BER) according to the modulation system, repetition, and pilot spacing.
