Correlated interface electron gas in infinite-layer nickelate versus cuprate films on SrTiO 3 ( 001 )

The authors identify the formation of an interface two-dimensional electron gas and the concomitant depletion of the Nd 5d self-doping band as a general phenomenon in infinite-layer PrNiO${}_{2}$, LaNiO${}_{2}$, and NdNiO${}_{2}$ as well as CaCuO${}_{2}$ and SrCuO${}_{2}$ films on SrTiO${}_{3}$(001).
