A Miniaturized Frequency Selective Surface with Stable Response Characteristics for GSM Shielding

2018
In this paper, a miniaturized frequency selective surface with stable response characteristics for GSM shielding is proposed, in which the unit cell is made of modified cross-shaped element. The simulation results show that the proposed FSS provides 18dB shielding effectiveness bandwidth of 34.6% at resonant frequency 0.927GHz. Besides, the FSS performs stable response under different incident angles and polarizations and the size is only ${0.024\lambda 0}$ , where the ${\lambda 0}$ represents free-space wavelength of resonant frequency. The effect of the parameters on the performance of proposed FSS has been investigated. Hence, the proposed FSS realizes miniaturization characteristics successfully and the design has huge potential in GSM shielding.
