Feature identification for computer aided diagnosis of liver cirrhosis

With about 216,865 deaths attributed annually to it, liver diseases are becoming one of the major causes of death globally. Cirrhosis is a late stage complication caused by many forms of liver diseases and conditions which results in loss of liver cells and irreversible scarring of the liver. Cirrhosis cannot easily be identified by symptoms since are nonspecific in addition to the fact that often no signs or symptoms develop until liver damage is extensive.
